The National Inspectorate of Strategic Products (ISP) publishes an annual report on Swedish arms exports each spring. The report contains information on export licences and actual exports, including a description of the equipment, and its value. The report also includes information on export licence denials, including the equipment involved, its intended destination and the criteria invoked. Holders of export licenses are obliged by law to report actual arms exports to the Swedish Inspectorate of Strategic Products annually. Thus, the ISP possesses information both on licenses granted and on actual exports from Sweden.

SIPRI's work on national reports includes: aim of promoting Swedish arms exports abroad. It was phased out in 2015, with some of its tasks and resources being transferred to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration. Today the majority of all arms produced in Sweden are exported.
