The UNGASS was officially set for these dates in UN General Assembly resolution 74/568 on 31 August 2020. The UNGASS provides an opportunity to shape the global anti-corruption agenda for the next decade – by advancing bold and innovative approaches, scaling best practices and developing new standards and mechanisms. Subsequently, the General Assembly adopted the resolution 74/276 entitled “ Special session of the General Assembly against corruption ” on 1 June 2020. On 31 August 2020, the General Assembly adopted decision 74/568, in which it decided that the special session will be held from 2 to 4 June 2021. The UNGASS 2021 website was created as a first step in the preparatory process and it is expected to function as a repository for all relevant information relating to the special session to be International Anti-Corruption Day: UNGASS 2021 offers a key opportunity to tackle the global crisis of corruption.
